A Driffield veterinary practice is appealing for sponsors as ten of their colleagues take part in a month-long charity challenge.

The team at Aldgate Veterinary Practice in St John’s Place are supporting Cancer Research UK’s Run 60 Miles In September.

Less than halfway into the month they are already two-thirds of the way to their target of £1,000 and have racked up 120 miles between them.

They are now planning a relay involving all of the team on Sunday, September 19, setting off from their Driffield practice and arriving at the site of their new £??m hospital in Bridlington, which is now well under way.

The 16-mile route will take them through Nafferton, Lowthorpe and Harpham before turning towards Kilham and then directly to Bridlington.

Vet and director ????? said: “Some of our wonderful team decided we wanted to get together and do something to raise money for a good cause.

“Cancer Research UK’s Run 60 Miles In September 2021 is our first challenge, meaning all ten of us taking part need to average 2 miles every day this month.

“We’d be really grateful for donations of any size as this is a cause that is close to so many people’s hearts.”

Anyone who would like to sponsor Aldgate Vets team effort in support of Cancer Research UK can do so through their JustGiving team page. They are also posting regular updates and photos of hot and sweaty faces on their Facebook and Instagram, which both have the name @aldgatevets.

Aldgate Vets currently have practices in Bridlington and Driffield, with the former currently located in Wellington Street. This is the practice that will be replaced by the new facility.
