Aldgate Veterinary Practice is a proudly independent veterinary practice with sites in the East Yorkshire towns of Driffield and Bridlington.
The practice evolved from the first two veterinary practices established in Driffield, both with roots going back to the 1940s. Since then we have grown into a 16 vet, two centre practice, offering a comprehensive 24-hour call-out service to pets, farm animals and horses.
As the only remaining independent, non-corporate practice in Driffield and Bridlington, our aim is to continue the tradition of a high standard of care in a compassionate and down-to-earth manner.
Our two current directors – Lucy Butler and Giles Moore – both have active clinical roles within the practice and live within local communities. They are supported by an experienced and compassionate team of vets, nurses, reception and admin staff.
We have RCVS Accreditation
We have passed our Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) inspection to be listed as a RVCS Small Animal General Practice. This means that we have been inspected and meet the criteria laid down by the RCVS to be an accredited general practice, specifically within the small animal discipline. We have been inspected to show that our premises and equipment are suitable for the work we undertake.
As part of this, we have to demonstrate that we have appropriate diagnostic and surgical equipment, and that everything is installed and used in accordance with health and safety requirements. Hygiene and cleanliness are also important parts of the inspection.
The accreditation ensures that our staff are appropriately trained and qualified to carry out their jobs and participate in continued professional development. The accreditation also ensures that we meet our obligations to provide 24-hour emergency cover. This scheme is voluntary and only around 50% of practices in the UK are accredited.

We are a Gold Cat Friendly Clinic!
We have Gold accreditation for being a Cat Friendly Clinic at our Bridlington site. This is the top level award issued by International Cat Care and is a result of both our oustanding facilities and the way we treat cats when they are in the hospital.
