Who we are
Aldgate Veterinary Practice is a proudly independent RCVS-accredited general veterinary practice with sites in the East Yorkshire towns of Driffield & Bridlington.
Aldgate Vets is an independently owned practice with a team of highly experienced Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, reception and Administration Staff based across our sites in Bridlington and Driffield.
Our ambition is to provide the best in preventative, diagnostic and emergency care for all our patients. We also believe strongly in being an excellent employer, providing a happy and safe place to work, and investing in the skills and qualifications of our wonderful team. We currently have certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, small animal medicine and small animal surgery certificate. We also have a diploma holder in animal physiotherapy.
As the only remaining independent practice locally, our aim is to continue the tradition of a high standard of care in a compassionate and down-to-earth manner. Our two directors – Giles Moore and Lucy Butler both have active clinical roles within the practice and live within local communities. We are an RCVS-approved nurse training practice and actively support the development of the nursing team. We have recently achieved ISFM gold standard status.
In our purpose-built small animal practice in Bridlington, we offer 3 surgical theatres, one with laparoscopic facilities, another dedicated to orthopaedic surgery. We also have a CT scanner, a separate dental suite with dental radiography, video endoscopy and gastroscopy. We have a dedicated rehabilitation department, led by our diploma holder, which offers, acupuncture, physiotherapy, laser therapy and hydrotherapy.
We have a dedicated night team for the hospital to support your work/life balance, this offers OOH services to 7 other local practices.
Who we would like to find…
The role is ideally full-time, however part-time applications would be gladly received. Full time is 4 days/week, with a fixed weekday off, Saturday/Sunday day shifts on rotation with time back the following week with a share of working Bank Holiday (with TOIL back).
We are ideally seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who has completed their GDP with a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience.
The ideal candidate will be a good all-rounder, we would also be interested to hear from vets with more specialist interests. The Practice encourages CPD and can offer support with starting or completing Certificates.
Exciting Opportunity: Veterinary Rehabilitation Lead (Maternity Cover)
Aldgate Veterinary Practice, East Yorkshire
We are an Independent, small animal practice based across two sites in East Yorkshire. We have a purpose-built hospital in Bridlington and a smaller, but equally busy practice in Driffield.
Our facilities
Both practices are well equipped with diagnostic ultrasound, digital x-ray and in-house laboratory machines. In addition, the
Bridlington practice offers CT, endoscopy and fully equipped laparoscopic, orthopaedic and dental theatres.
We run an OOH service from the Bridlington practice, covering our own and 8 other local practices’ emergency work.
The Bridlington surgery is also home to our rehabilitation facility, which includes an underwater treadmill machine, a large 6×4 m hydrotherapy pool, and a dedicated rehabilitation consultation room with a wide range of physiotherapy equipment.
Our people
We have a 15-vet team, which is made up of both experienced and more recently qualified vets, including certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, surgery, and medicine, and we actively encourage further training and professional development. We have a wonderful team of RVNs, which again includes certificate holders, and are a busy nurse training practice. We have a dedicated client care team who keep the wheels turning and who are constantly aiming to improve our client experience.
We have a dedicated Rehabilitation team, which is currently led by vet Rayana Kamal. Rayana holds a WVAG Certificate in Chronic Pain Management and Acupuncture and is qualified as a Veterinary Physiotherapist from the University of Nottingham in 2022. Rayana is also a board committee member on the British Veterinary Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Association.
Rayana joined the practice in 2021 and has spent most of her time growing a dedicated and loyal client base offering a holistic approach to rehabilitation using acupuncture, class IV laser therapy, physiotherapy and tailored exercise plans.
The rehabilitation facility in Bridlington opened in 2022, and since then, we have also been able to offer hydrotherapy. Our rehabilitation patients are a mix of older patients with chronic conditions and patients who have had orthopaedic or spinal disease or surgeries. Cases are either referred internally, with a high case load coming from our orthopaedic surgeon, or through external referrals from local practices.
We have two full-time hydrotherapists, one of whom is an RVN, who work alongside Rayana to offer a unique veterinary-led service.

Job description
Our current available position is to provide Rayana’s maternity cover with the possibility of a longer-term role. This unique opportunity involves leading and developing a small team dedicated to rehabilitation and hydrotherapy, maintaining the current client base, and working with the team to look for innovative ways to improve and develop the service.
Rayana currently works a 4-day week with a set day off each week and every other Saturday. There are no late nights or OOH shifts. Rayana spends 90% of her time dedicated to rehabilitation work.
We are open to flexibility around this position, with the possibility of part-time working being an option. There will also be the possibility of including other roles within the practice.
Salary would be expected to be £45,000-£58,000 depending on hours and experience.
Who are we looking for
This is a unique opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon who has a passion for and experience in Veterinary Rehabilitation to lead a small team to maintain and develop an established veterinary rehabilitation department. Further qualifications in veterinary acupuncture and chronic pain management are essential for this role.

The role
We are looking for a dedicated Canine Hydrotherapist to join our team. Ideally full-time (4 days over 7) but would welcome applications for part-time hours.
Ideally you will hold a Level 4 qualification in Hydrotherapy for Small Animals (minimum Level 3), Advanced Water Treatment and have experience in practicing canine hydrotherapy post qualification.
An ability to be confident in dealing with dogs of all sizes/temperaments with a wide range of health conditions.
You will be expected to:
- Create and implement treatment plans for patients
- Advise clients on Hydrotherapy treatments and benefits
- Liaise with vets both internal and externally on case progress, concerns, on-going management etc.
- Maintenance and management of equipment during shift
- Diary and client management
Salary would be expected to be £27,000 – £29,000 depending on hours and experience.

We are seeking a friendly, professional, enthusiastic and approachable individual to join our Client Care Team.
You will be the first point of contact for our clients, greeting them and their pets with a friendly face and caring attitude. You are also a vital link between clients and our veterinary team.
The role is varied and fast paced. You will need exceptional communication skills and the ability to multitask are essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity and to be successful in this role you will need to be:

The position is full-time and you will work on a rota basis Monday – Friday between the hours of 8.00 am – 8.00 pm. You will have a set day off a week. Weekends (Saturday & Sunday) on rota with time back when worked plus bank holidays on rota.
Primarily at our Small Animal Hospital at Bridlington but you will be expected to work at our Driffield Practice as required.
