We are an RCVS-approved nurse training practice and actively support the development of the nursing team. We have recently achieved ISFM gold standard status.

In our purpose-built small animal practice in Bridlington, we offer 3 surgical theatres, one with laparoscopic facilities, another dedicated to orthopaedic surgery. We also have a CT scanner, a separate dental suite with dental radiography, video endoscopy and gastroscopy. We have a dedicated rehabilitation department, led by our diploma holder, which offers, acupuncture, physiotherapy, laser therapy and hydrotherapy.

We have a dedicated night team for the hospital to support your work/life balance, this offers OOH services to 7 other local practices.

We are ideally seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who has completed their GDP with a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience.

Exciting Opportunity: Veterinary Rehabilitation Lead (Maternity Cover)

Aldgate Veterinary Practice, East Yorkshire

We are an Independent, small animal practice based across two sites in East Yorkshire. We have a purpose-built hospital in Bridlington and a smaller, but equally busy practice in Driffield.

Our facilities

Both practices are well equipped with diagnostic ultrasound, digital x-ray and in-house laboratory machines.  In addition, the

Bridlington practice offers CT, endoscopy and fully equipped laparoscopic, orthopaedic and dental theatres.

We run an OOH service from the Bridlington practice, covering our own and 8 other local practices’ emergency work.

The Bridlington surgery is also home to our rehabilitation facility, which includes an underwater treadmill machine, a large 6×4 m hydrotherapy pool, and a dedicated rehabilitation consultation room with a wide range of physiotherapy equipment.

Our people

We have a 15-vet team, which is made up of both experienced and more recently qualified vets, including certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, surgery, and medicine, and we actively encourage further training and professional development. We have a wonderful team of RVNs, which again includes certificate holders, and are a busy nurse training practice. We have a dedicated client care team who keep the wheels turning and who are constantly aiming to improve our client experience.

We have a dedicated Rehabilitation team, which is currently led by vet Rayana Kamal. Rayana holds a WVAG Certificate in Chronic Pain Management and Acupuncture and is qualified as a Veterinary Physiotherapist from the University of Nottingham in 2022. Rayana is also a board committee member on the British Veterinary Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Association.

Rayana joined the practice in 2021 and has spent most of her time growing a dedicated and loyal client base offering a holistic approach to rehabilitation using acupuncture, class IV laser therapy, physiotherapy and tailored exercise plans.

The rehabilitation facility in Bridlington opened in 2022, and since then, we have also been able to offer hydrotherapy. Our rehabilitation patients are a mix of older patients with chronic conditions and patients who have had orthopaedic or spinal disease or surgeries. Cases are either referred internally, with a high case load coming from our orthopaedic surgeon, or through external referrals from local practices.

We have two full-time hydrotherapists,  one of whom is an RVN, who work alongside Rayana to offer a unique veterinary-led service.

Our Values

Our core values are Compassion, Commitment, Integrity and Teamwork.

We aim to offer a modern approach to Veterinary Medicine with a traditional client and team-focused approach.

Our team is a diverse and welcoming team that works fantastically together to deliver these values.

Job description

This unique opportunity involves leading and developing a small team dedicated to rehabilitation and hydrotherapy, maintaining the current client base, and working with the team to look for innovative ways to improve and develop the service.

Rayana currently works a 4-day week with a set day off each week and every other Saturday. There are no late nights or OOH shifts. Rayana spends 90% of her time dedicated to rehabilitation work.

We are open to flexibility around this position, with the possibility of part-time working being an option. There will also be the possibility of including other roles within the practice.
