Halloween can be a fun-filled time of the year for all of the family; however, the many unfamiliar sights and sounds can make it a stressful occasion too, especially for our pets. Take a look at some of the things to be aware of as we approach the day itself.

Costume caution

Who doesn’t love dressing up? Whether you’re a superhero or a ballerina it’s important to know you might look a bit different to your pet and they may behave in a way you’re not expecting. Remember to give them a bit of space and allow them time to adjust to your new look.

Keep treats out of little paws

Adults and children alike might delight at the idea of an evening of unlimited sweets and chocolate, but these things can be toxic to your pets. Keep treats and pets apart for a safe evening of delicious indulgence.

Safe spaces for keeping calm

With the doorbell expected to ring and new visitors and faces on your doorstep, it’s a good idea to keep your pet safe and sound in a different room away from fuss and people.

Howl-oween decorations

Decorating is all part of the fun of spooky season but with curious cats and bouncy dogs around it can be easy for your pets to get tangled up whilst you are not around.

Pumpkins and pets

Candles in pumpkins might make for an authentic spooky feel but with pets around it might be better instead to opt for LED or battery lights to keep everyone safe and sound.
