Behaviour and socialisation clinics
We offer tailored behaviour and socialisation clinics to suit your pet’s needs. These cover a wide range of issues, including anxiety, fearful behaviour, general cues and training, noise sensitivities and reactivity.
The first step is to get in touch with our team and let us know your main concerns and queries.
From here, an initial consultation will be set up with Katie, our behaviour nurse (pictured below). Katie has completed a Diploma in Canine Behaviour Counselling. The purpose of the initial consultation is to focus on the problems you are facing, and the overall goals you would like to achieve from the clinics.
Following this, a behaviour modification plan will be sent, which will include training advice, changes you could make in the home environment, and goals to work towards after each session.

Behaviour Clinics or Socialisation Clinics?
The socialisation clinics are mainly based around fear of the veterinary environment, whether this be the consult room, the examination process or fear towards specific things such as injections or nail clips.
Behaviour consults are more focused on specific issues not related to the veterinary environment, for example reactivity or separation anxiety.
Katie will, in some cases, use other resources, such as dog trainers or certified and registered behaviourists, particularly if you are struggling with a more severe behavioural problem. This will be discussed during the clinic, and together you’ll create a plan that works for your dog.
Supporting You and Your Pet
Both clinic types require dedication and consistency from you as an owner.
Sometimes medications or supplements may be recommended to support the behaviour modification plan. If we feel these could be beneficial, they will be discussed during your appointments.
Regardless of breed, age, or whether your dog is a rescue or a puppy, we’re here to help with your behaviour concerns. If you feel you need advice or support, please don’t hesitate to contact our team.
